TV One’s: Way Black When

Objectives:

  • Reinforce TV One as the destination for Black History Month while showcasing affiliates’ broadband capabilities with robust online content tied to the “Way Black When” programming theme.

Tactics:

  • In association with the “Way Black When” photo contest, TPE created a Super Soul Poster Maker that allowed consumers to choose and customize one of two original, Blaxploitation themed personas with their uploaded photo. Social media sharing capabilities encouraged viral promotion.

Results:
  • The promotion site received over 18K+ hits, over two times as many hits as the prior year’s promotion, and was awarded a Bronze CTAM Mark Award.
